Privacy
Privacy in plain terms
Files download directly from WhatsApp Web to your computer and are processed locally. Your chats, contacts, media and downloaded files are not sent to WhatsSnap's developer.
No WhatsSnap account is required for downloads. There is no WhatsSnap analytics, advertising or profiling service. A saved ZIP password is encrypted on your device.
Optional Pro purchases and restoration use ExtensionPay and its payment processor. Feedback you choose to submit on this website is received through Netlify Forms; it does not include your WhatsApp data automatically.

Does WhatsSnap work on WhatsApp Web?
Use WhatsSnap with WhatsApp Web in desktop Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers. Choose the matching store below. Mobile browsers are not supported.
Can I download from multiple chats?
Yes. Select individual and group chats for one run, without opening each conversation. Save regular selections as Quick Select groups for one-click reuse. Multi-chat and Quick Select are included in Starter and Pro.
What files can I download?
Pictures, videos, voice notes, audio, documents and stickers. You can filter by media type and precise date and time ranges.
Can I download ZIP files?
Yes. Download individual files or create one ZIP per selected chat, with optional password encryption.
Does it upload my files anywhere?
No. Your WhatsApp media downloads directly from WhatsApp Web to your computer, not to WhatsSnap servers.
Do I need to scroll through old messages first?
Not at all. Scanning reads available history directly, beyond the messages on screen, without pre-scrolling. WhatsApp controls the history available to your linked session; unavailable or unsynchronised media cannot be guaranteed. Calendar date jumps and the optional older-message loader are for browsing the conversation, and are not required for downloads.
What is included in Starter?
Starter includes up to 50 downloads per day, Multi-chat downloading, Quick Select groups, calendar tools, media and date filters, custom organisation and ZIP output.
What does Pro unlock?
Pro unlocks unlimited downloads, duplicate detection and saved settings for each chat with a one-time payment and no subscription.

WhatsSnap is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with WhatsApp, Meta or any of their affiliates.
Where are my files saved?
In your browser's download location, using the folder and filename layout you choose in WhatsSnap. Turn off "Ask where to save each file before downloading" in your browser's Downloads settings to avoid a prompt for every file, or download as a ZIP.
Can I restore Pro?
Use Restore Purchase in WhatsSnap with the email supplied at purchase. Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription.
What do the calendar media counts show?
They show media found by your latest scan, grouped by day. Hover a badge for a breakdown by media type. In Multi-chat, the calendar combines the scan results for your selected chats.
